This unit was extremely challenging to me as most the materials covered is so natural to me. I never actually have to think twice before using phrasal verbs or the passive voice. However, it is essential that ESL students understands these concepts very quickly (especially if they are planning on moving to an English speaking country). Practice makes it perfect. I am truly hoping to get more materials of that nature before I start teaching. This unit give a good overview of how a sentences are structure. First you start with basic sentences and identifying Nouns, Adjectives, Articles, Verbs, Adverbs, Gerunds, Pronouns and Prepositions. Identifying the categories and sub categories gives you a good understanding of how English sentences are instructed. I think that having a basic knowledge of grammar will make it easier for a learner to structure sentences with more confidence.
