This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit identified modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. There are many technical rules to many of these different forms of grammar. Modal auxiliary verbs are used to add meaning to the main verb and placed before other verbs. These modal verbs are typically used to express different ideas such as ability, obligation, possibility, advice and permission. They can also be used to express different versions of formality such as using the verbs 'can' or 'may' when asking for something or for permission. Passive voice was another topic covered in this unit, passive voice differs from active voice to shift the focus of a sentence. To make a sentence passive, words are shifted around so that the object of the active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb.
