This unit covered conditional and reported speech. It provided detailed information on the five main conditions: Zero, First, Second, Third and Mixed and provided examples of proper use of each, together with suggested ideas for teaching them. The information for Reported and direct speech was a quite bit more involved with the different tenses for speech going from direct to reporting. The reporting portion of the unit, I found to be extremely interesting, in that it made me realize how often I hear tenses being used incorrectly. What I learned in this unit will make me even more aware of speech around me, including what and how I say things and everything that is taught in the lesson, can be applied to teaching and strengthening students speaking habits.
