This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered a lot of information about different teaching methodologies, what TEFL courses use now (ESA), and plenty of ideas for each part of the ESA lessons. I had no idea there have been so many different methodologies, so that was incredibly interesting to learn. I also identified the type of language learning that had been used on me in high school and college (with French, and the method was Grammar-Translation). I greatly appreciated the lesson examples given for the straight-arrow ESA lesson, the Boomerang lesson, and the Patchwork lesson - it cleared up confusion to see concrete examples. I also liked that positivity in correction is emphasized because that was something that always held me back in elementary and high school - fear of correction.
