The unit gives the advantages and disadvantages of integrating electronic tools like smart boards and video cameras as well as online and print resources into language lessons. Often, one of the disadvantages for any electronic piece of equipment can be its potential to fail during the lesson, so the unit encourages teachers to always test these tools in advance and to always have a backup plan, just in case. I learned that equipment that discourages the students from being communicative, such as computers, should be used in moderation because otherwise their use can actually diminish the effectiveness of the communicative skills so imperative in language learning.
