Course books can be reference and guide.But as teachers we can’t just follow the books rigidly and stop being creative and bring more interesting materials to class.I believe it is good to have books to follow,because the books are always tested and tried before putting into use,and most importantly,they are more organized and systematic,we can see a progress of the students.Especially when a teacher first teach,the supporting materials like teacher’s book,CD tracks or flashcards are really helpful.
On the other hand,the course book can make teacher lazy too.As teachers,we have to use the books appropriately to make the class more effective.
Never regard the course book a solution to everything.Keep thinking,keep being critical and keep being creative.
