This unit was about the materials you can use in a classroom and how to properly use a course book. I think it's very important, especially for new teachers to use a course book, because it's an easy way of knowing how much students need to know in a certain amount of time (a year). That way you can divide/plan your lessons easily. I also think it's very important to be creative and come up with other materials that match the needs of students. A course book is a very general book that doesn't know when students need more explanation or more time on a certain subject. It is your job as the teacher to find a good balance between using a course book and using authentic/created materials, that way you'll keep students interested and you're able to match their needs.
