This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This Unit gave a brief summary of different methods of teaching and how TEFL uses the Jeremy Hagnes way of ESA teaching, Engage - Study - Activate.
I think I have learnt some great teaching ideas on different activities to use within these different stages of ESA. Suggestions like Fizz/Buzz, alphabet introductions and my favourite Scattegories to engage the students at the beginning of the lesson are great tools to help stimulate the students that I am looking forward to using. Learning about the ESA teaching style and the different structures it can take like boomerang and patchwork was very interesting and will also be very helpful in planning out my lessons. I really feel that this unit will be a great personal resource for lesson planning once I am qualified.
