In this Unit, I learned that there are 3 basic types of Speaking skills such as controlled which refers to helping the students on what they are about to say, then we have a guided activity which used either in the study or the activate phases and lastly, the creative activities that normally used in the activate phase. I also learned the difference between accuracy and fluency that will be needed in teaching different skills.This unit presents the productive areas of language learning: speaking and writing. Teachers should focus on accuracy more during the study phase, but not correct students so much during the activate phase. Various games, pair work, etc. can be used to help students interact in English and practice their fluency. Handwriting, spelling and punctuation are all important skills in helping students become successful in writing.
