This unit covers lesson planning and the purpose that lesson planning serves in the classroom. Rather than a rigid script for instruction, a lesson plan serves as an aid to planning the class and is something that can be referred to occasionally rather than followed to the letter. Lesson plans should be flexible, and because they also serve as a record for what was done in the classroom, it is important to make notes and update the lesson plans after class. It is also important to note what did or did not go well so that future lesson plans can be adapted accordingly. The sample lesson plan in this unit was very informative for me, as my current lesson plans do not contain as much information and so I will work to improve my future lesson plans based on this unit.
