This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, there is an extensive approach into the theories, methods and techniques in teaching EFL. I have no doubt been able to understand the scope of ESA; ENGAGE, STUDY AND ACTIVATE. In the engage stage it is centred on arousing students interest and getting their full attention and thereby fully incorporating and getting them thinking and speaking English before proceeding the next stage, as well if possible linking it to the study. In the Study stage, we elicit as much as possible from the student and get them to focus on the language and then Activate stage is where the students are encouraged and allowed to practice and demonstrate their understanding and usage of the language learnt so far which could come in the form of survey, debates, role-play etc.
