This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit gives an overview of modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. Modals include words such as might, may, could, would, and will, and they can express a variety of things: obligation, uncertainty, ability, or advice. Phrasal verbs are verbs with multiple words, like 'took on' or 'turn up.' Passive voice shifts the focus of the sentence from the subject (doer of the verb) to the object of the verb (which becomes the subject). It can be used when the performer of an action is unknown or unimportant to the sentence. Out of the grammar units from this course, this has been one of the more challenging ones, so I will definitely be spending a substantial amount of time dissecting these grammar structures in order to make the material more digestible for students.
