Past te se and present tense are somehow similar to each other because they use the same system and structure except that both happened at different times. Past tense from the word past itself means that the action took place from the past and the verbs being used are being added with 'd' or 'ed' except for the irregular verbs. Tenses has become easier to remember because there are things and clues that you can elicit from each tense like in continuous form, verbs are being added with -ing at the end of the word, for the perfect form had and have plus been is present in the sentence, and for the perfect continuous form have/had been plus verb with -ing. Tenses are difficult to learn at first but when you get the formula it will become simpler than what you thought.
