Unit five covered classroom management, which is defined as the skill of organizing and managing the class, having a friendly, relaxed manner, and maintaining discipline. The unit described the different aspects that go into classroom management. These were eye contact, gestures, voice, student names, grouping students, classroom arrangement, writing on the board, individual attention, TTT vs. STT, instructions, rapport, and discipline. With each aspect, the unit described the aspect, gave pros/cons, and gave ideas about enhancing the aspect positively. The unit talked about the different types of grouping students. These are whole class, individual, pairs, and groups. The unit also gave plenty of tips on how to establish/maintain rapport and maintaining discipline.
