This unit is important because it allows the teacher to understand how to teach receptive skills and how they are important to the understanding and learning of the language. It is also important to understand the different kinds of reading and listening and how it helps to perceive different kinds of information. It is also important to understand how to help build confidence in students when learning the receptive skills.This unit was helpful in discussing how to organize the classroom in an effective way to make it a great environment for students to learn in. I liked having pros and cons of different activities in classrooms. Personally, I always hated doing paired work because I felt like my partner was at a different level than I was. I liked group work better because there were often many people at different levels of learning Spanish.
