This unit went through the teaching of productive skills which are speaking and writing. The unit covered the differences between accuracy and fluency activities. I learned that the output of accuracy based activities should be controlled by the teacher fluency based activities allow students to have control over the content of the language they use. The unit also covered how to structure a creative writing activity lesson.In this unit I learned about introducing new language in the classroom. For introducing vocabulary, grammar, and functions, different techniques, teaching suggestions, and common things to be prepared for were mentioned in the unit. Furthermore, Boomerang, Patchwork, and Straight Arrow ESA structures were shown to aid in introducing new language. I feel I have a better idea of how to introduce new language in the classroom.
