This unit covers the importance of reading and listening as well as how to teach it. it also explains reasons why people listen and read. I personally don't like to read novels I would much rather read an instructional manuscript for pleasure(entertainment) as it might come in handy. so this unit does relate to me as my interests probably wont be the same as my students.This unit brought home the message that a teacher must create the need and desire in students to communicate. It reinforced the need to encourage student participation that is, to speak and interaction with other classmates/students. The techniques to encourage interaction and verbalisation were very useful as was the sample lesson for free/creative speaking. Similarly
