This unit helps teachers in preparing for what materials to use in class and during what exercise throughout the lesson. It's important to know what types of material are helpful and for what level and group. Further, the use of textbooks can be helpful, but should be the only item used in class. It's important to supplement material with real-world example materials as well.Classroom management with adults and elementary school has always been easy for me but it was really trying when I taught middle schoolers. I agree with this chapter that lack of motivation really matters when it comes to student behavior. I have taken note of many of the suggestions in this chapter, just in case I should ever be asked to teach a group of middle schoolers again.
