Textbooks have affordances and constraints, as do authentic materials and created materials. AS a teacher, it is best to use your judgement about what best suits the students. If a textbook is provided or used by a school, it is beneficial to use it enough so that students feel comfortable, yet it is also a good idea to supplement and use authentic or created materials as needed to ensure the best education for your students.Unit 16 explain the features of conditionals and reported speech. There is a good explanation of the different kinds of conditionals: from zero conditional to mixed conditional. Also reported speech is a very difficult argument for the students. The students must change the verb tense, the pronoun and the time expression of the direct speech. This two arguments can create a lot of confusion and consequently a lot of mistakes.
