This lesson discussed the first two basic skills that are fundamental to learning a language, namely: reading and listening. It begins by explaining the basic reasons for wanting to be able to read and listen. The primary reasons are: for a specific purpose and for general entertainment. Furthermore, the lesson was very helpful in explaining the various means by which we do this, to different effects.i think from this chapter i learnt more about lesson planning - as someone who is always organised and structured, i always knew that it was important to draw up a lesson plan before each class but with this chapter, i feel like now i will be able to draw up a more effective one to ensure that it will benefit those i am teaching and also will help me improve on my teaching methods and my lesson structure
