As an educator picking course materials or making the decision to use generally designed course books is huge! Making our materials as relevant as possible for our students is very important because that directly affects student involvement as well as participation. However, there are many issues that arise from using course books exclusively and therefore in my opinion they should inly be used as a resource and not as a lesson plan.This unit discussed various aspects on how a teacher can improve in his teaching ability. He can do so by his eye contact, his tone of voice and his use of gestures. The sitting arrangement can also have an impact on the students and the effectiveness of the class. Differents ideas of layout were shared. The subject of discipline and how it should be administered was also discussed as well as how to transmit instructions efficiently.
