Unit 1 covered the general characteristics of a good student and a good teacher, the possible roles of a teacher in the classroom, the names and possible definitions of the various levels of English proficiency and the possible difficulties you may face with various characteristics of different age groups.
This unit has shown me that teaching is an imprecise art. It requires constant flexibility and the ability to adapt to many different situations that may arise in the classroom due to age differences, different English levels, past experiences, character and emotions. Unit 1 has opened my eyes to the numerous roles I will have as a teacher, and how these roles might be applied.
