This unit went over the importance of listening and reading. It focused mostly on how we read and listen as well as the different types of reading and listening. It went over how to preteach and when to preteach as well as how to select reading material to teach. It also went over how to help keep students engaged while reading as well as how to help improve the engagement and confidence of the learners. I find that this was one of the harder units to find ways to integrate into lessons that would help keep the student's motivated. I have decided that the best way to do this is get to know the students. If you find a way to make it interesting to the learners, they are more likely to find the lesson engaging and become more confident about the language they are learning.
