Well, since I've got a degree in linguistics this unit was more a kind of review than a revealing one for me. Anyway, I have to say it was a vey refreshing and nice experience since I haven't had to use this knowledge for a long time.
Anyway, the content of this unit is very, very useful. It has to be diggested slowly in order to get it absorbed properly. But it's worth it.
I would make an overview by just naming the kinds of speech parts we have and I will do it in more or less the same order they follow in a sentence: article (definite or undefinite), adjective, noun, frequency adverb, verb (transitive or intransitive), adverb, object. The prepositions and conjunctions don't necesarily have a specific place in the sentence but they are used as required throughout it.
