The only rationale that I can provide is I am always confused by the various tenses of verbs. It seems that there is a customized form for each subject and the part the words play. I did believe I had a better understanding of the past simple, past perfect and the continuous. Then I completed the quiz and started to rethink every answer and how the words in the sentence used.
In conclusion, I am learning the basic mechanics and fundamentals of the English grammar. I find that there is more of a particular purpose meant for words in a sentence than I had initially realized. Maybe, one could say, I took the language for granted and skated by without knowing or learning the appropriate words and usage. It is nice to determine the formality of the language at this juncture.
