This unit outlined various components that a lesson plan (or a sequence of lesson plans) can have and detailed what some of the purposes and advantages of lesson planning are. Additionally, unit 9 included samples for a lesson plan, a self-evaluation form, and example activities/worksheets. While I learned about the benefits of lesson planning and various ways one can lesson plan from this unit, it also explained that a lesson plan can simply be notes jotted down, that there is not neccessarily a right or wrong way to lesson plan as long as the teacher has a clear goal for herself and her students and as long as she leaves room for change and is flexible. Most TE courses at my university teach rigid lesson planning, so I found the flexible approach in this unit refreshing.
