This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In Unit 10: Video Lessons, two videos are provided that show a teacher teaching a lesson properly, and the teacher making deliberate mistakes in teaching the lesson. In the first video, the teacher was too demanding, very imposing in stature and vocals, and did not properly explain or engage with his students. Because of this, the students seemed very uncomfortable and confused. In the second lesson, the teacher explained the lesson much better, and had a positive attitude, which contributed to the students being much happier and more contributive to the discussion. Ultimately, I learned from this lesson that what makes an effective lesson in the classroom and what doesn't is not really dependent on the actual lesson, but the attitude and actions of the teacher themselves.
