From this unit about coursebooks and lesson materials,i finally know that materials can be divided into two groups, they are authentis materials and created materials.The differeneces between those two are, Authentic materials, such as newspaper,songs, menus,etc, are not designed for EFL, and are not graded for level,and should be selected carefully. But created materials such as crossword,word search puzzles, gap fill activities, they can be graded for level. So it's very important for teacher to know their student level before go for another activities. Using coursebook in class can also help, but there's some disadvantages about it such as they can make teacher less creative, they are oudated and not relevant anymore and also overuse that can make the lesson predictable.
