I have always found lesson plans to be a helpful tool for teachers. When I am a student, I am encouraged when the teacher has a clear direction for the class/lesson. Lesson plans are useful for many reasons such as serving as a guide for the teacher, serving as a record, and as a useful reference for a substitute teacher. Teachers create lesson plans in many ways, however, for beginning teachers, ITTT has provided a sample lesson plan. Date, class size, student objective, teacher aims, and expected difficulties are all aspects of the lesson plan. Plans also include the procedure the teacher will take with planning as well as activities to use in each phase of teaching. I was happy the lesson plan provided includes room for improvement for the students as well as the teachers.
