This unit was about books and materials. Teachers use two types of materials: authentic materials and created materials.
Authentic materials are anything that a native speaker would hear or read, created materials are anything that the teacher could create or use as support material for the lesson based on the needs and interests of the students, like crosswords, flashcards, pictures, etc.
I learned about how to analyze a course book and what could be the advantages and disadvantages of using one. I also learned about what I can do to improve a lesson even if I could be able to use a course book. I could bring extra material to the class focusing on the students' needs or replace the ones on the book with more appropriate or beneficial material for a specific group of students.
