In this unit I have learned that course materials range from student course books to workbooks that they utilize for homework, to the teacher's course book which helps with activities, syllabus, and security for the teacher, cassettes and videos, as well as other materials that may be useful like a dictionary. Authentic materials are what native speakers read and hear such as a brochure or radio interview and created materials are items that the teacher creates and depends on their level of creativity. Magazine cut outs or drawings are all acceptable. I liked this unit because it gave me the understanding that teaching is truly individual and that as long as the students are learning at their grade level, anything is truly possible. The teacher must use his/her own imagination.
