In order to earn the respect of students and establish rapport, the instructor must first respect the class. Knowing them personally engages them, encourages them, and allows the class dynamic to thrive. There are many methods to managing the class such as eye contact, position, class organization, talk time, and discipline. Using these methods with variety and enthusiasm are just some of the ways to make the most of the class time. The goal is for the students to develop their English speaking, but understanding how to maintain rapport and a healthy class atmosphere is necessary.
