This unit highlights the necessity for all teachers, no matter how experienced, to plan our lessons with due thought and intention, to ensure that we are aware of what we expect our students to achieve by the end of the lesson, how we intend making that possible, how to stay on target, yet remain flexible to any changing needs, and to ensure that our plan serves as a record of what a particular class has achieved. Lesson plans are individual to each teacher and should serve the purpose of structuring the ESA based lessons around a grammar point, listing the aids and materials required, anticipating problem areas and offering possible solutions, and the procedure. Follow-up self evaluation should take place to facilitate awareness of shortcomings and promote growth in each teacher.
