This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit starts with an overview of the basic twelve English verb tenses and then goes into more detail around the four present verb tenses-simple, continuous, perfect, perfect continuous. The form, usage, common errors, and suggestions for activate portions of lesson plans are given for each tense.
I found the common errors and suggestions for activate portions of lessons to be very helpful. Before, I have tried to explain to students why their usage was wrong and sometimes had difficulty. This lesson helped me understand some better ways to explain these errors to students. For example, \"I am believing in God.\" is a common mistake. I can now explain that while this is a continuous state of being, verbs about state of being don't usually get continuous tense in English.
