This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This is a highly interesting topic focusing on how a teacher can organize and manage his class. It delineates the 4 different ways the teacher can group his students (whole-class, group work, pair work, and individuals) and the various classroom setups (horseshoe/semicircle, orderly rows, individual desks) dependent on student age, nationality and personality, physical space, and furniture available. On top of this, the pros and cons of each item is given. This gives me a range of ideas as to how to vary my class to add interest. I learn that I can organize the class into various groups in order to increase STT or the lesson objectives. The points given regarding discipline, giving instructions, writing on the board, and establishing rapport are extremely helpful and practical, too.
