The unit gives an overview of the techer's role in the classroom and provides the main conceptions and ideas about teaching itself, levels of the English language learners, types of learners. Besides, there is a useful and clear explanation of the qualities which a good teacher/a good learner should have.
Moreover, the 6 levels of the ability in English according to the Common European framework were absolutely new information for me. There are the following levels:
1)Breakthrough, Basic User, A1
2)Waystage, Basic user, A2
3)Threshold, Independent user,B1
4)Vantage, Independent user, B2
5)Effective operational proficiency, Proficient User, C1
6)Mastery, Proficient user, C2
In general,the unit is really useful and, as far as I understand,plays a role of introduction to further units.
