I teach future tense pretty often in my current ESL teaching job. Learning about the uses for future simple is something that I think will be applicable in my current position. I learned that uses for the future simple tense include: predictions, promises, threats, and future facts. I enjoyed learning the differences between future perfect and future perfect continuous. These are two tenses that are not very common. Future perfect tense is used when describing something that will be completed by a certain time in the future. Future perfect continuous describes how long something will have been occurring by a certain time in the future. There are a few functional activities such as wedding vows, employment contracts, and arranging a meeting that can help students to learn these tenses.
