Having completed the general TESOL/TEFL course, much of this section was a review of language teaching methodologies and concepts, which in no way was a bad thing. It is important to have a mastery of what you are teaching, and how you are going to do it, and I'm of the belief that the ability to use multiple methodologies or strategies depending on the situation and the needs of the student is what makes for a good teacher. It is also important to have an understanding of how we learn, whether we are \"learning\" or \"acquiring,\" the many roles and hats an effective teacher must wear, and the possible pros and cons of which group (or individual) you are teaching. So, while much of this unit was a review, it was also an expansion into my understanding of effective language teaching.
