This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In the first lesson, the teacher did not even give an example of what auxillary verbs are. Instead, he just repeated the term and it never made sense to anyone. He never used the Engage phase to elicit animal vocabulary, therefore the \"can vs. can't\" lesson and the vocabulary were very disconnected from each other. I felt that because of this, the students didn't understand what they were supposed to learn or how to carry out the worksheets in the Study phase. The Activate phase also left them confused because without their understanding in the Engage and Study phases, you cannot carry out Activate. He was also short with them, and never smiled. In the second lesson, he smiled a lot, learned their names, used the ESA technique correctly, and made sure they understood all the concepts.
