This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is all about troubleshooting when problems arise. Different problems include, multi-level students, students from a variety of backgrounds, slower students, unmotivated learners, and more. I think it is important for me to really look at the idea of keeping students engaged, especially when some of them finish faster than others, and there are some lagging behind. What then? I can give the others worksheets to do and allow ample time without rushing anyone, but also balance my time in the classroom as it is mine to balance. Some great warm-up exercises are games or tossing the ball in order to introduce ourselves. Grammar and pronunciation shouldn't be stressed in that time. It is important for me to make my students feel comfortable, welcome, and excited about learning English.
