This unit looked at typical first lesson problems and expectations. The first lesson will be a critical time for a teacher, because based on my own experiences it is based in the short amount of time known as the 'honeymoon' period. This is the time that teachers and students are most receptive to finding out about each other. Outside of this time students become gradually more demanding and test the boundaries you have put in place.While the last unit explained teaching methods broadly, this unit gave very detailed descriptions of teaching methods. I found that trying to understand and absorb all of these teaching methods was difficult. It did however, give me insight into the teaching methods which I will implement and the methods which I would be keen to use with students. It also provoked consideration of which methods may be appropriate for specific levels.
