This unit has given me a good understanding of what is necessary for an effective classroom environment. A teacher can follow the ESA model without being effective. A teachers attitude and engagement with the students is equally important. The teacher needs to explain clearly and check for understanding. The teacher should not get frustrated if the students do not understand the content. Also, a teacher must not read a book in class.This unit taught us about how a teacher may have to teach English to different kinds of students. There are beginners, some of the beginners have learnt English before some haven't. The teacher has to identify the level of their English. There are other groups like students who want to learn business English. These kind of students have to be approached differently and you may want to take a need analysis before you start the course.
