The unit provided information on receptive skills and the different ways in which we listen,for instance we may use detailed information in which we will listen very carefully to the information as we may need to concentrate and focus ie someone telling us directions.Another point I took from this unit was that it is very important to pick topics for students that they will be interested in so they will be engaged and motivated to learn.Ways to assess students are by tests, evaluation by students, and tutorials. There are many types of tests such as the placement test, progress test, diagnostic test, practice test, and external test. I liked the evaluation by students piece because a student can develop a greater awareness of their understanding of the lesson without the pressure of it being a test and that a teacher can evaluate the strengths and weakness of a student.
