I learned about the qualities typical to a good teacher, including fairness, good knowledge of the subject, and being able to motivate students. I also learned about what makes a good student or learner of the language, including a willingness to listen to the language and ask questions, as well as having an ability to think about their own learning process. The course taught me about the multiple roles that a teacher can play in the classroom, including manager, participant, facilitator, and organizer, among others. I also learned about the differences in motivation, experience, and behavior between different categories of young learners and between young learners and adults. Finally, I also gained knowledge of the different levels of experience with the language and their characteristics.
