This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The most important part I’ve learnt from this unit is correction techniques. A mistake takes place when the student can correct himself, and the error is something deeply ingrained. The options of correction (going from the first choice to the last choice): self correction, student-student correction, teacher-student correction. Mostly we correct during study phase and give more fluency during engage and activate phases, but it is always relevant to correct when: the mistake is with the language point we are teaching, the mistake is regularly repeated, the mistake seriously impedes understanding.
Of course, I appreciate the ideas for all 3 phases of teaching: activate, study and engage, as well as lesson planning notes.
It was interesting to learn about different methodologies. Thanks
