The unit starts off with an overview of desirable qualities and skills of a teacher. The most helpful part of this lesson was the description of different roles the teacher will assume in the classroom. It's nice to know the technical terms for the different styles and examples of how to utilize them. I found myself recalling memories from teaching or observing teachers while reading the description of each item and how I can use the new information to make my classroom more engaging for the students. I also like how the unit covers qualities of a good student, descriptions of language levels, and student motivation. The differences between adult and young learners was fascinating. Knowing the age group and the difficulties and skills of each group helps greatly with organizing lesson plans.
