Understanding what modals are and how they're used is an important part of studying the English language. I found the teaching ideas helpful and would definitely use roleplay games and a guessing game for signs to help teach students how to use modal verbs. The charts were helpful too, and helped provide a better understanding of the concepts taught in this unit.I was nervous starting this unit as I was expecting to struggle with the phonetic symbols. I studied phonetics during a previous degree put could not remember much of it. After reading through it a few times I felt more confident and it became easier. I enjoyed this unit as I studied speech and voice for 4 years and it was fun to recap on the different organs.
