This final lesson covers troubleshooting common problem situations while teaching an EFL class. An example of a common problem situation is the very first class. This is because the teacher must set the tone for the rest of the course and be able to create motivation and interest while maintaining structure and discipline. The first day is also an important day for the teacher to assess the level of the students and plan accordingly.The section tackled the uses of tests in specific class environments. The material was not as interesting as previous units, but clearly equally and necessary. The information regarding when to use specific kinds of tests, such as the progress and diagnostic tests, was the most appealing part to me. I look forward to seeing the test requirements that Thai schools will put on ESL students and how that will affect the flow of my class.
