Unit 20 discusses some common problems that may arise in an ESL classroom, such as teaching multiple levels in the same class, native language usage in the classroom, dealing with reluctant students, teaching large classes, and helping students with English listening difficulties, as well as different ways to approach these problems. The Unit also discusses how to approach the first lesson in the classroom, depending on whether the class is a new group of students or an existing group of students, emphasizing that the course book should not be used in the first lesson for either and that, with a new group of students who do not know each other, extra care needs to be taken so that students can become familiar and comfortable with one another, possibly through ice-breaker/\"warmer\" activities.
