This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit explained the different types of teaching equipment available to teachers and students. There were some items introduced that I was not aware of such as the IWB, and others such as using video to record students for later analysis and discussion that I had not considered. Overall, I think that the content tried to present that it is best to use a wide variety of equipment and tools and effectively tailor them to the needs of your students. Each tool has its strengths. Visual aids and white boards can focus students attention, DVD's can allow students to analyse and predict content and stimulate discussion, and traditional core tools like dictionaries can allow students to look up new words, meaning and pronunciation.
A good balance of teaching tools applied in different areas in key.
